Giving back to your local schools.

There are plenty of different ways to give back to your customers and community, but giving back to the schools can be the most rewarding adventure of all. Every business, charity, and school definitely deserves any monetary donation it can get. However, there are plenty of ways that you can give back to a school without costing you or your business an arm and a leg.

Volunteering is huge in schools; there are so many different ways you can help. Every school needs mentors for their students whether it is kindergarten thru high school. Mentors, mean so much to the students to have a positive role model in society. This allows the students to make connections with adults in a positive and inspiring impact in the student’s life. By coming out to a school and reading to the students changes their lives in ways you couldn’t even imagine. Showing a positive attitude towards reading and literacy goes a long way in any students mind. There are always activities that schools are running that they always need extra hands for; such as “Back to School Night”, where you may simply help the school out in whatever they need to set it up. The principle of this is to help the schools and maybe lessen the load for the teachers and staff so they can focus more on the students. The old saying is “It takes a community to raise a child” this would be a perfect example of how that saying is put to work.

Those are just some of the benefits that help the schools; there are also some ways in which volunteering will help you and your business. Most school districts have a business partners program. If your school district does, I would recommend you get in contact with the person in charge of that department for your district. This will allow you to be a partner for the school. Most school districts will put you on there websites and flyers to advertise that you and your business are partnered with the school. This will give you free advertising to the families of the school district.

On the local school level, once you become a volunteer or business partner, you will be able to work with the school on advertising for your business. Each school wants to give back to their volunteers for all their dedication and hard work. This is where you can negotiate with the schools for advertisements through the school and the families of the students.

I have found that teachers and faculty members of the school system are very loyal to their school’s business partners. They will go out of there way to help you and do business with you or your company just because you volunteer with the schools. It truly is a win-win situation for everyone involved, especially the students.
